Hummus rocks!  I think some, especially my husband and kids, can't get past the odd taste.  Maybe it's the tahini or maybe the chickpeas.  I'm not sure what it is that turns them away, but I find myself craving it.  There are so many variations with hummus, and I've only tried a few.  Here is a basic version I used served with veggies and a few slices of sourdough.  I don't usually use pita bread.  Whatever you have around the house that can be used for dipping works perfect.
