Yogurt a Healthier Way

Say goodbye to the sugar laden yogurt at the grocery store.  This yogurt is way better: taste-wise and health-wise!  Nonfat Plain Greek yogurt is super good for you.  There is so much protein in it, which satisfies you for longer than those sugary yogurts or cereal for that matter.  Of course, protein also builds muscle and helps your body to maintain it's muscle mass.  If I'm not in the mood for a Kefir smoothie at breakfast or snack time, I reach for this.  It's almost like dessert! 

1 serving of plain nonfat Greek yougurt
1 fruit: apple, berrries, peach, lemon (whatever you like)
1 packet of Truvia or a light sprinkle of Stevita

If your not familiar, Truvia is a natural zero calorie sweetener derived from a specific part of the stevia plant.  It also contains erythritol which is a sugar alcohol found in fermented fruits and some other foods.  The FDA has approved this to be used as a food sweetener.  I feel it's way better than artificial sweeteners such as Equal, Sweet'N Low, and even Splenda.  Natural is always better.

Stevita; on the other hand, is not approved by the FDA for use as a food product.  Instead, it is sold as a dietary supplement.  The story behind this completely boggles my mind because they allow Truvia which is about the same thing (only less pure maybe).  I will never understand the FDA.  I have found that people need to educate themselves on things and make their own decisions on what they put into their bodies.  The FDA doesn't always know what is best for us.  Only we can decide that.  But, that's a whole other story that I won't get into at this time. : ) 

Stevia is sold in liquid, powder, or spoonable form.  A little goes a long way.  This stuff is super sweet!
